No pants, No Frisbee

Last month five members from an ultimate frisbee team in Portland, Oregon decided to take off their pants and underwear when the other team called skins. One of the five claimed,"We put on the longest shirts we had," "We have some jerseys that are pretty long." Well apparently the shirts weren't long enough for the "gifted" team. You cannot deny the fact that these boys had ... guts, but they were clearly maybe too clearly in the wrong and no one wants to see that while watching a sports game of any kind. Thank God that ultimate frisbee is a "non-contact" sport and not like football.

Ultimate Frisbee, which is akin to flag football and is popular as a club sport at numerous universities and high schools, has rules but no referees. Players are responsible for their own foul calls and are to resolve their own disputes

When a dispute like this comes along someone has to step in. Sandie Hammerly the executive director said that "you have to wear clothing, its the rules." The team has also recieved citations and fines for rowdy behavior and serving underage kids alcohol. I guess I shouldn't have expected their record to be clean. The team which was ranked as number three in the nation has been forced to end their season after the incident. The next time that you're at a sporting event be glad that everyone has their clothes on.

  1. In your block quote you should put something relating to the news not just a definition, it would give it more insight! Otherwise nice topic lol :)

  2. This absolutely cracks me up! It's funny that in a family-friendly game of ultimate frisbee turned into a little nude-fest. I think the way you used jokes such as they have...guts and called them "gifted" was good. It kept be interested. I agree that the block quote should have dealt more with the situation you talked about and not the rules. Other than that this was interesting, I wouldn't even know where to find a story like this.

  3. love your opinion and awesome word choice. The block quote should be relative to your topic, a definition is nice but other than that. good stuff.
